I’m a 65 year old first termer, and I joined the PFL program approximately three months ago. Prior to my incarceration I owned a business, and committed a crime was the furthest thing from my mind. Unfortunately, I exercised poor judgement and this lead to a senseless loos of life. There isn’t a day that passes without feeling a deep sense of remorse for the pain I have caused to so many people.
I have a beautiful, loving wife, three amazing children and two gorgeous grandchildren, but my senseless action has denied me from being there for those I love.
Thanks to PFL, I have been given an opportunity to make amends for the harm I have caused. I have had dogs my entire life, but I never fully understood how healing it could be to work with a dog that needed my love. It is truly a privilege to work with the dogs and train them to be CGC qualified and prepare them for their forever homes. Serving LWOP (Life in prison without the possibility of Parole) can make someone feel hopeless, but as long as I can work with the dogs I have hope of making a difference in their lives, as well as the families that adopts him or her.
