My name is Phil and I joined the PFL program for two reasons: firstly, I saw this program as a great opportunity to make amends for the harm I have caused; and, secondly, I have a desire to learn how to train dogs. I have heard so many wonderful things about PFL and I knew it was a good way to give back to the community and rescue dogs in the process. In terms of training, I had two dogs and they did not possess strong social or behavioral skills. In fact, they knew no commands. While I would never get rid of “Lano” & “Cha Cha,” I can see how some people would consider similar dogs to be unmanageable, or, worse yet, feel compelled to surrender them to a shelter. This amazing program will teach me how to become a professional dog trainer, and I plan on using those skills to help prevent families from ever having to make the heart wrenching decision to surrender a member of the family.
