Paws for Life has given me the opportunity to once again feel like a productive citizen. As a former soldier in the U.S. Army, I spent my free adult life serving my country. Now with the Paws for Life program, I can once again serve my community by helping to rescue dogs. Often times, the dogs that enter our program have a history of neglect or abuse. However, replacing that abuse with love and respect has changed not only our dogs’ lives, but it has also changed the hearts here in prison.
