I am a competent, responsible man with a positive self-image and healthy self-esteem. I am caring, loving, and generous husband, father, brother, and friend. I have been incarcerated for the past 15 years and I wasn’t always the person I am today. I was raised with poor social skills, poverty, put down emotionally abused, beaten, and out in the streets at the age of 16.

I continued this struggle during my first half of incarceration, of believing things that are not true about myself. As I earn a higher education and being an active participate in enriched and empowering programs such as Paws For Life K9 Rescue it allowed me to learn that I am many times better than I thought I was. Working and caring with our K9 built my confidence and allowed me to learn that being beaten, thrown into walls, burned with cigarettes, going hungry, feeling ashamed, and living in fear can make me a better, more sensitive person. That adversity and opposition can make me stronger if I choose to learn from it. I have found my passion at Paws For Life and will continue working diligently towards my career goal in training K9s.
