My name is Dennis Bagwell and Paws for Life means several things to me – saving dog’s lives, learning to train dogs, and developing better social skills.
All the dogs we receive were destined to be euthanized. They are saved when we get to work with and train them. All the training is taught by inmates with great training skills. There is a lot of work involved by everyone and we all learn as we devote ourselves to the dogs and the program. There are a great number of inmates involved and our social skills improve while we work together in unity. This life experience is preparing me for my release with more social and practical skills.
This program should be offered at all prisons.
