Occupation: Dog Trainer
location: CMF
My name is Daniel Tilbury. I have been incarcerated for eleven and a half years, and about seven months ago I became one of the first members of the Paws for Life program at the California Medical Facility. Working with the dogs has been amazing. I have always been an animal lover, and I had dogs and all manner of pets growing up. This program has taught me so much more about canine thinking and behavior than I ever thought possible. Paws for Life has shown me how to truly empathize with and be responsible for a dog. Understanding how to develop a deeper relationship between dog and trainer has given me confidence and a greater ability to relate to the world around me, and enabled me to lead a richer and fuller life regardless of my circumstances.
