Growing up I was always surrounded by dogs, they were such a natural part of life. Everyone had a dog and we all played together. Some of my fondest childhood memories have the family in them. Christmas morning with our family dog at our feet more excited than we were. Now, in an environment that is so forlorn in most respects, I start my being able to get unconditional love and kisses from my doggie friends. Most importantly, I know I am helping in a small way to ensure a happy future would undoubtedly have been quite bleak.
