My name is Andre and I joined the Paws For Life program because I heard it is a positive way to give back for the harm I have caused. On a personal level, I observed the dogs prior to joining PFL and I saw a part of myself in them. The dogs are often broken and forgotten and they needed to be rescued. I, too, was broken and I needed to be rescued from myself. I was lacking when it came to a purpose in life, and I was selfish in more ways than I can count. My previous identity was scared by heartache and poor decisions. I’m not only a changed person, I’m blessed to have the extraordinary support of a wonderful wife and family, and PFL is an extension of that support team. Helping these dogs find forever homes is simply a way to continue building my character and seeing life through a positive lens.
