Adrian

Occupation: Dog Trainer

location: Vacaville

My name is Adrian B. Lewis and I love animals. When I heard there was a dog rescue program, I knew, immediately, that I had to be a part of it. PFL is a great source of satisfaction because I’m able to help rescue and train dogs, and do something positive and meaningful in my rehabilitative journey. Working with the dogs allows me to make direct and indirect amends for the harm I have caused. So many PFL dogs arrive from shelters and are give a second chance in our program, and I feel as if I have experienced a similar path. I was sentenced to life in prison, but I have worked hard to become a man worthy of a second chance—similar to our loving dogs. I’m also interested in the aspect of being a professional trainer once I’m released, so that I may use the copious skills taught by PFL to train a dog how to be a well-mannered member of the family.
